Virgo – Emotional – Heart: FEEL

One of the most important questions in human life is to know by what criteria it can fulfill its purposes. Human conduct is usually based on its being rational, that is, guided by reason. It also obeys the dictates of the virtues of the will. And this has to do with feelings. Thus, there is a close relationship between feelings and the way they relate to intelligence and will.

According to some psychologists, feelings, especially deep feelings, are something like dispositions that favor activity if they are positive or inhibit it if they are negative. On the other hand, feelings are usually differentiated as being of two types: deep and lasting, or superficial or variable or interchangeable with other feelings. Others hold that feelings mark the link between the spiritual faculties and the human subject.

Of importance is the interaction of feelings in their relationship with intelligence and will as derivatives of the active dimensions of the human being. But in our time the spiritual faculties of man, the intelligence, and the will, are discredited. That is why relativism has increased, that is, the opinion that denies the universality of truth, as well as the control of the will. That is why, in our time, greater credit is given to feelings; we turn to them because we consider that they are what remains after the doubt about the reach of intelligence and will, concludes Dr. Leonardo Polo, honorary doctorate from the Univ. of Piura, Peru.
