Gemini – Mental – Third Eye: SEARCH – DENY

In their book IN SEARCH OF SELF, Christina Grof & Stanislav Grof M.D., the authors analyze the types of spiritual emergence, as they call it, on that path. The common denominator in all transformational crises is the manifestation of various aspects of the psyche that were previously unconscious. However, each spiritual emergence represents a unique selection and combination of elements from the unconscious. Some of these are biographical, others perinatal and still others transpersonal.

There are no boundaries within the psyche, since all its contents form a continuum with several levels and many dimensions. Therefore, one should not take for granted that spiritual emergences come in types or forms with well-defined boundaries so as to distinguish them clearly. Nevertheless, it is possible and useful to define certain types of spiritual emergence that do have enough specific and characteristic features to differentiate them: – Episodes of unity consciousness (peak experiences) – Kundalini awakening – Near-death experiences – Emergence of «past life memories» – Psychological renewal by a return to center – Shamanic crises – Awakening of extrasensory perception (psychic opening) – Communication with spirit guides and channeling – Close encounters with UFOs – Possessions.

For Daniel Brauer, when one tries to explain the meaning of the simple word «no» one ends up surprisingly trapped in a labyrinth of philosophical problems. Although we are confronted with an elementary operation by which we daily establish basic differentiations in our picture of reality the mechanism of the procedure is by no means obvious and must be clarified. One could reply to this that any attempt to explain the operation of negation is doomed to failure, since it would be such a primitive notion that, as is the case with axioms, any argument in its favor already presupposes them. But it is paradoxical to have to accept as a logical principle or primitive concept something that is understood even less than that which one wants to clarify with its help.

While for most theories of the philosophical tradition the negative proposition is a construct of human discourse whose only connection with reality consists in the ascertainment of differences, absences or even negative facts, in the tradition of Hegel’s philosophy negation seems to be linked to a certain destructive faculty exercised by a subject, the work of negation, which is seen as the condition of possibility both of theoretical criticism and of the transformative capacity of the historical-political world and is thus linked to the concept of freedom.

I invite everyone to read Matias’ post with the theme of the day

Finally, I encourage everyone to reflect on the concept of the day. No one else but us can re-signify our own being
